GE, SKF to promote magnetic bearings applications

GOTHENBURG, Sweden – SKF and GE Oil & Gas have signed a non-exclusive, license-based collaboration agreement, aimed at further development of active magnetic bearing technologies in the oil and gas industry.
GE Oil & Gas will employ SKF’s magnetic bearing technologies comprehensively, from front-end engineering and design through installation, testing and service to its clients.
The agreement can be extended to widen to GE’s steam and gas turbines.
