(Asia-Pacific) - Malaysia's Scomi Group Bhd has acquired control of the Singapore-based offshore support vessel company Chuan Hup Holdings Ltd.

Scomi completed the acquisition end of September through its investment company Habib Corp Bhd.

Habib has taken the entire marine logistic services business of Chuan Hup, 29.1% of Singapore-listed CH Offshore Ltd., and 49.1% of Surabaya and Jakarta-listed PT Rig Tenders Indonesia. Both of the companies are in the offshore marine support services businesses.

Chuan Hup has a fleet of 158 utility vessels, anchor handling tugs, barges, tugs, accommodation barges and landing craft.

The acquisition makes Scomi one of the largest marine vessel transportation services provider in the region.
