OSLO, NorwayDNV has published a revision to its DNV-ST-N001 standard.

This covers design and planning of marine operations for transport and installation (T&I) and removal of offshore wind farms, subsea cables, and oil and gas facilities.

Following continuous engagement with the industry, the standard has been regularly updated since it was first created in 2016. The latest revision follows a consultation during which DNV received more than 400 comments from the industry.

The first published document combined DNV and Noble Denton legacy standards from the 1970s and 80s.

The standard is applicable to all marine operations and main engineering requirements related to load-out, construction afloat, voyages, installation and loads to be addressed during the design of these marine operations.

It also sets forth requirements from the perspective of the marine warranty surveyor responsible for reviewing the marine operations.
