Equinor has appointed Anders Opedal as president and CEO, effective Nov. 2, 2020.

Lundin Energy has appointed Nick Walker as president and CEO and Daniel Fitzgerald as COO, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Hurricane Energy plc has appointed Antony Maris as an executive director and CEO.

Ithaca Energy Ltd. has appointed Bill Dunnett as CEO. He succeeds Les Thomas.

Europa Oil & Gas (Holdings) plc has named Simon Oddie as CEO. Concurrently, Oddie is stepping down from his position as non-executive chairman of Europa and will be replaced by Brian O’Cathain

Dominion Energy has named Thomas F. Farrell as executive chair, Robert M. Blue as president and CEO, Diane Leopold as COO, and Edward H. Baine as president-Dominion Energy Virginia, effective Oct. 1, 2020.

Aker BP has appointed Ine Dolve as senior vice president Operations and Asset Development.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has appointed Beatriz Puente as CFO.

Borr Drilling Ltd. has named Patrick Schorn as CEO.

Carnarvon Petroleum Ltd. has appointed William Foster as chairman.

Robert Hosking, founder, CEO and managing director of Karoon Energy Ltd., will retire at the 2020 annual general meeting.

Larry Bottomley has stepped down as CEO of Chariot Oil & Gas Ltd. The company has appointed Adonis Pouroulis as acting CEO. In addition, Julian Maurice-Williams and Duncan Wallace have joined the board as executive directors as CFO and technical director, respectively.

Lloyd’s Register Group CEO Alastair Marsh has decided to step down from his role and retire from the board of directors on Dec. 31, 2020. The board has appointed Nick Brown as Group CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Axxis Geo Solutions has named Ronny Bøhn as CEO.

Neil Platt, COO and executive director of Hurricane Energy, passed away on July 5, 2020. The company has appointed Steve Holmes as acting COO.

Francesco Gattei has taken up the role of CFO at Eni.

International Petroleum Corporation has appointed William Lundin as COO, effective Dec. 1, 2020.

BHP has appointed Laura Tyler as chief technical officer, Caroline Cox as chief external affairs officer, and Johan van Jaarsveld as chief development officer.

Maersk Drilling CFO Jesper Ridder Olsen will leave the company by the end of January 2021 at the latest.

Company News

Kvaerner and Aker Solutions plan to merge, forming a new company providing a more comprehensive service to the global energy industry. Although they will be combined based on the principle of equal parties, the new company will be Aker Solutions ASA.

Viaro Energy has agreed to acquire the entire issued and to-be-issued ordinary share capital of UK North Sea independent RockRose Energy plc.

Mermaid Subsea Services (Thailand) has created an offshore transportation, installation, and decommissioning services business unit. Mermaid claimed this would be the first Thai-owned and Thai-operated services company in the offshore transportation, installation and decommissioning sector capable of delivering services to an international standard using qualified local content for the Thai market.

Flylogix and Cambridge Consultants have agreed to collaborate on harnessing Iridium’s satellite communications to control unmanned aerial vehicles from a central hub. The arrangement will allow Flylogix to transition from local drone piloting at the airfield to centrally controlled operations, strengthening its support service for offshore E&P activities.

ABS and Dalian Maritime University have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to work together on education and industry projects related to shipbuilding and marine and offshore engineering. The agreement covers research programs focused on a series of fields including subsea engineering, polar shipping, autonomous vessel technology, and future projects.

Xodus Group has agreed to a partnership with Japanese consultancy E&E Solutions to deliver in-depth advice and analysis for the offshore wind market in Japan. The partnership will provide integrated advisory and technical services to deliver value to offshore wind developers, owners, operators, and lenders.

Halliburton Co. has created Halliburton Labs – a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs, academics, investors, and industrial labs come together to advance cleaner, affordable energy. Located at the company’s Houston headquarters, Nanotech Inc. has signed an agreement to be the first participant.

Shell Exploration and Production Co. has contracted Danos to provide a workforce across its production assets in the Gulf of Mexico, including Appomattox, Auger, Enchilada, Salsa, Mars, Ursa, Olympus, Perdido, and Stones. The three-year contract began on May 1 and will employ 144 Danos personnel in a variety of positions including: crane operations, control room and process operators, electricians, electronic technicians, instrument technicians, logistics and onsite supervisors.

Ampelmann has signed a new, three-year contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum for work in the Asia/Pacific region. The company will provide two of its latest version L-type systems to enable daily crew change operations.

NHV Group has started a new three-year contract to provide helicopter services for Shell UK and NAM in the southern North Sea. Flights will depart from NHV’s bases in Den Helder, the Netherlands and Norwich, eastern England to the offshore field facilities. NHV has allocated one Leonardo AW139 aircraft based at each of the two airports, featuring a medium-sized twin-engine.

Augean North Sea Services has acquired the EcoCentre at Peterhead, north of Aberdeen. Via the EcoCentre the company plans to introduce further waste treatment processes for a broad range of offshore materials, including drill cuttings and slop waters, via novel technology processes.

Vedanta Resources has extended Sparrows Group’s contract for supply of a rental crane offshore western India by three years.

Maersk Training has entered a global partnership with Bristol Community College’s National Offshore Wind Institute in Massachusetts.

Add Energy’s Asset and Integrity Management division and LifeTech Engineering Ltd. have partnered to develop an approach that analyzes the associated risks of inspection or maintenance delay, and offers the justifications required for postponing turnaround activities when it is safe to do so.
