People

Tullow Oil plc has appointed Rahul Dhir as CEO and an executive director of the group. Dorothy Thompson, currently executive chair will return to her position as non-executive chair after a limited period of handover.

Petronas has appointed Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz as president and Group CEO. He succeeds Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin.

Noreco has appointed David B. Cook as CEO.

Beach Energy Ltd. has named Ian Grant as COO.

BP Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd. has appointed Taelo Mojapelo as CEO.

Equinor has appointed Tore Løseth as executive vice president of Exploration. He succeeds Tim Dodson, who has become vice president Strategy Execution in Global Strategy and Business Development.

BP has appointed David C. Lawler as chairman and president of BP America Inc. He succeeds Susan Dio, who will retire later this year.

Noble Corp. plc has named Robert W. Eifler as president and CEO and Julie J. Robertson as executive chairman of the board of directors.

Dr. Robert Trice has resigned as CEO and a director of Hurricane Energy. The company has appointed Beverley Smith as interim CEO. Richard Chaffe, who has been acting CFO since February 2020, has been confirmed as CFO and an executive director.

The Oil & Gas Technology Centre has appointed Martin Gilbert as chair.

Dr. Carl Trowell has joined Acteon Group Ltd. as CEO.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has appointed Andreas Nauen as CEO.

Solstad Offshore ASA has named Kjetil Ramstad as CFO.

Henrik Poulsen has resigned as CEO of Ørsted.

Woodside has appointed Fiona Hick as senior vice president Operations, Dr. Tom Ridsdill-Smith as senior vice president Climate, Meg O’Neill as executive vice president Developments and Marketing, and Daniel Kalms as senior vice president Corporate & Legal.

Aker Solutions CFO Ole Martin Grimsrud has given notice that he will leave the company on Sept. 1, 2020.

Philippe Grasset has resigned as deputy CEO of Mermaid Maritime Public Company Ltd.

Bjørn Thore Ribesen has joined Vår Energi as vice president Field Development & Projects.

Walter K. Compton, executive vice president and general counsel of Murphy Oil Corp., has retired. The company has named E. Ted Botner as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

The National Ocean Industries Association board of directors has elected Galen Cobb as chairman and Matt McCarroll as vice chairman for the 2020-21 term.

Weatherford International plc has appointed Karl Blanchard as interim CEO and Benjamin C. Duster IV to the board of directors. In addition, Christian Garcia, executive vice president and CFO, has decided to leave the company on Aug. 5, 2020.

Mehdi Bouguetaia has joined Neptune Energy as Algeria managing director. In addition, Gro Haatvedt will leave her executive role as vice president of Exploration and Development at the end of September 2020. She will remain with the company as distinguished advisor. From October, the exploration and development team will report to Andrea Guerra, in the new combined role of vice president Subsurface.

Excelerate Energy has hired Calvin Bancroft as COO.

Lem Smith has joined the American Petroleum Institute as vice president of Upstream Policy. In addition, former US Coast Guard Captain Russell Holmes has been named director of the Center for Offshore Safety (COS). Holmes replaces Charlie Williams, who recently retired after leading the COS throughout its first decade.

Dril-Quip Inc. has promoted Jeffrey J. Bird to president and COO and Raj Kumar to vice president and CFO.

Pryme Group has appointed Kerrie Murray as CEO.

Nigel Underwood has joined Xodus Group as manager of the subsea and pipelines division.

Yinson Holdings Berhad has appointed Flemming Grønnegaard as CEO of Offshore Production, Rolf Marthin Normann as COO of Offshore Production, and Eirik Arne Wold Barclay as Group executive vice president, New Ventures and Technology.

Equinor has sold its 4.88% stake in Lundin Energy AB for around SEK 3.3 billion ($335 million).

Santos has named Weatherford contractor of the year.

Rovco has opened an office in Edinburgh, Scotland.

TDI-Brooks International Inc. has acquired Gregg Drilling’s CPT cone manufacturing capability in Nacogdoches, Texas.

Ampelmann has reached one million personnel transfers in nearly a decade of operating in the Middle East. The one millionth transfer took place during a project with vessel owner Halul Offshore Services Company W.L.L., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Milaha, enabling maintenance, well services, and shutdown work.

Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) has completed the acquisition of Isotek Oil and Gas Ltd. The acquisition adds Isotek’s remote welding technology to CSS’s range of subsea pipeline repair capabilities which are primarily focused on mechanical clamp and connector pipe joining solutions.

DeepTech Oil Services has expanded its premises with a new testing pool and crane. This adds to its 3,600-sq m (38,750-sq ft) facility in Cairo and means engineers can test prototype ROV technology.

Bristow Group has merged with Era Helicopters. The newly combined company, to be headquartered in Houston, will retain the Bristow Group name and will remain publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. It will provide offshore helicopter services throughout the Americas, Nigeria, Norway, the UK and Australia, with plans for investments in new technology and safety features to meet future needs of new and existing oil and gas companies.

Schlumberger has entered into a collaboration agreement with China Petroleum Logging Co. Ltd. to jointly manufacture wireline downhole technology in China. The collaboration agreement will provide CNPC Logging with a license to manufacture fit-for-basin wireline technology. As part of the agreement, Schlumberger will support the company on the manufacturing and sustaining activities for ThruBit through-the-bit logging technology at the CNPC Logging technology center in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.

GATE Energy has opened an office in South Korea.

Scana ASA has changed the name of its portfolio companies Scana Skarpenord, Scana Offshore, and Scana Subsea to Skarpenord, Seasystems, and Subseatec, respectively.

Spirit Energy has awarded NHV Group a long-term contract to provide passenger transfer services to its East Irish Sea operations. The operations are expected to start in December 2020 and will depart from Blackpool, UK. NHV’s team will fly an AW169 helicopter. In addition, Ithaca Energy (UK) has awarded the company a five-year extension to its contract to provide B2B helicopter services to the FPF-1, Alba, Captain, and Erskine field platforms in the UK central North Sea.

Fugro has established Fugro IOVTEC Co. Ltd., a Taiwanese entity to support ongoing business expansion in the emerging offshore wind farm market.

WellConnection IOS has secured approval from HMRC for a new bonded warehouse area at its UK base.

Wellpro Group has signed a collaborative agreement with Inflatable Packers International (IPI). The agreement enables the thru tubing and well intervention provider to enhance its existing portfolio and offer IPI’s products along with operational design, technical support and field personnel to run and deploy the technology at the well site.

BP Ventures has invested $5 million in cloud-based geospatial analytics software company Satelytics. The Toledo, Ohio-based company collects high-resolution spectral imagery from the planet’s surface using satellites, drones, and planes, combining these images with proprietary algorithms to create electromagnetic signatures: these can be used to detect environmental changes, including releases or leaks.

Inmarsat has joined the Energy Industries Council.

Sparrows Group has achieved the UK Accreditation Service certification to the ISO/IEC 17020 standard for its onshore and offshore inspection activities. The company has also re-located to a new purpose-built facility in Luanda, Angola.

CUI Global Inc. has changed its name to Orbital Energy Group Inc.
