STAVANGER, Norway – Annular isolation specialist CannSeal has introduced mobile mixer technology which allows the company’s proprietary epoxy resin to be mixed on-site.

This is said to open up new markets independent of location as it removes the constrictions associated with storage and curing times.

The company, which was created as a spin-off from the AGR Group and is owned by Altor, Equinor, Sumitomo and Saudi Aramco EV, has tested and qualified epoxy to be tailored to specific challenges of each well.

With the mobile mixer, the resin can be developed immediately prior to installation, with the capability to adjust for well temperature on site. The resin, with a viscosity of up to 4 million (cP), is injected into the annulus using a patented delivery tool.

This approach is said to avoid the need for heavy workovers.

The mobile mixer works with CannSeal’s IntegritySeal and ZonalSeal products which are designed to re-establish well barriers in hard-to-access areas with minimized interruption to production.
