TOKYO – INPEX Corp. has reported a series of organizational changes.
The company has established the New Ventures & Global Exploration Division to reinforce its oil and gas exploration and M&A capabilities. The division will consist of the existing Business Development Unit and Global Exploration Unit as well as the newly created Exploration Strategy Unit, which will oversee the strategic management and capital distribution of the company’s exploration operations.
It has also created the Strategic Projects Office to provide counsel on the implementation of key projects shaping management strategy in order to strengthen project management and execution. It will report directly to the president and CEO.
In addition, the company has reorganized its overseas regional project divisions into the Asia Projects Division, Oceania Projects Division, Americas Projects Division, Eurasia, Middle East & Africa Projects Division, and Abu Dhabi Projects Division. Each division will consist of a Commercial Coordination Unit and Technical Unit. The Asia Projects Division includes the Masela Unit while the Oceania Projects Division includes the Ichthys Unit.
To focus on digitization to reinforce its competitiveness, the company has established the Digital Transformation Unit within the Technical Division. In addition, it has established the Operated Projects Support Unit, Technical Support Unit, and Well Engineering Unit.
Finally, the Legal Unit has been repositioned as a standalone unit reporting directly to the president and CEO.
