ABERDEEN, UK – Aker Solutions has contracted ProSep to supply two MAX+ ProSalt mixers to Equinor’s Heimdal Gas Centre platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The equipment should allow production to resume from the Vale gas and condensate field by reducing the volume of salt present during the downstream processing stages.

Vale is connected to the platform via a 16.5-km (10.3-mi) pipeline.

Jacek Kacperski, ProSep’s European sales manager, said: “Salt precipitation can have an adverse effect on gas processing; ProSep’s…inline mixers have therefore been… designed to remove salt from the gas condensate by mixing it with injected wash water in two stages.

“This ensures efficient wash water utilization by reducing injection volumes and improving separation when compared to traditional mixing technologies.”
