SHANGHAI, China – Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded main contracts for the Qatar LNG expansion project, designed to lift the country’s LNG production capacity from 77 to 110 MM t/yr by 2024.
Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, CEO of QP, saidMcDermott would fabricate and install the new platform jackets during a speech in Shanghai at the 19th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas.
A joint venture between Consolidate Contractors Co. and Teyseer Trading and Contracting Co. will prepare the site for the four new 8 MMt/yr LNG trains at Ras Laffan Industrial City.
QP is currently in the tendering phase for eight rigs for the development drilling, Al-Kaabi added, with further tenders due to go out later this month for the onshore facilities.
