Subsea 7 to manage Arran tieback in the North Sea

LUXEMBOURGShell has contracted Subsea 7 for the Arran gas field development in the UK central North Sea.

The contract scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of 60 km (37 mi) of mechanically lined pipe-in-pipe production flowline, together with subsea structures and tie-ins at the Arran andColumbus gas/condensate fields and the Shearwater platform

Project management and detailed engineering has commenced at Subsea 7’s office in Aberdeen, with offshore activities due to start in 2020.

The company said this contract award is between $100 million and $200 million.
