Protexa contracts Telford vessels for Pemex offshore installations

Protexa has commissioned Telford Offshore to perform pipelay and platform construction services for a shallow-water development program at Pemex’s Litoral de Tabasco area in the Gulf of Mexico.

DUBAI, UAE – Mexican contractor Protexa has commissioned Telford Offshore to perform pipelay and platform construction services for a shallow-water development program at Pemex’s Litoral de Tabasco area in the Gulf of Mexico.

Telford will deploy three of its multi-purpose DP-3 vessels for the EPCI contract.

One of these,Telford 31, is already working offshore Mexico for Protexa on another project. It will mobilize in July for multiple subsea and topsides activities.

The vessel’s facilities include a 400-t heave-compensated main crane, a heave-compensated gangway, a moonpool, and 1,300 sq m (13,993 sq ft) of clear deck space.

TheTelford 34, also operating in Mexico for another company, will mobilize for Protexa after finishing its current job to undertake multiple rigid pipelay and topsides works.

It is equipped with an 800-t heave-compensated main crane, an S-Lay system for installing pipes of 4-48-in. dia. (60-in. with coating), a heave-compensated gangway, a moonpool and 1,300 sq m of unobstructed deck space.

TheTelford 28is currently heading to the Gulf of Mexico to perform hookup for another client, before starting subsea and topsides operations for Protexa. It has a 270-t main crane, a heave-compensated gangway and 1,100 sq m (11,840 sq ft) of unobstructed deck space.
