Prosafe support rig staying on at Ula in the North Sea

Prosafe and Aker BP have agreed to re-structure the remaining seven one-month options for the semisubmersible support rig Safe Scandinavia at the Ula platform in the southern Norwegian North Sea, to three one-week options.

The first of these options has already been exercised at a total value of around $1 million. Operations on site are due to continue into early May.

Earlier this week theSpirit Energy-operated Oda field came onstream as a subsea tieback to the Ula platform.

TheSafe Scandinavia will be available for charter from late-May onwards, Prosafe added, for a combination of high bed capacity, drilling support services, and P&A, well intervention and decommissioning support.
