Dana Gas signs ADES/Vantage JV for deepwater Egypt well

ADES International Holding has entered a short-term exploration contract with Dana Gas for deepwater drilling services in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.

DUBAI, UAEADES International Holding has entered a short-term exploration contract with Dana Gas for deepwater drilling services in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.

Vantage’sTungsten Explorer drillship will drill one firm well under the contract, with an option to drill a further three wells.

The initial program is set to take 77 days to complete.

Services will be subcontracted to ADVantage, a joint venture between ADES and Vantage Drilling International.

ADVantage supplies ADES’ local workforce and pre-qualification in the Mediterranean basin, while Vantage contributes the drillship and its deepwater drilling experience.

Ihab Toma, CEO of Vantage Drilling International, said: “We are delighted to put theTungsten Explorer back to work so soon after it completed certain upgrades as well as finishing its five-year campaign for Total in Congo.”
