PERTH, Australia – The operator of the G1/48 concession in the Gulf of Thailand plans to apply to Thailand’s Department of Minerals and Fuels for an acreage extension, according to partner Tap Oil.

This would cover the 14-sq km (5.4-mi) North Kra Production Area extension east of the current North Kra (Manora) area and includes the 2015Malida field discovery.

Tap said commercial development of Malida would depend partly on successful exploration of nearby structures.

The operator has conducted geological and geophysical studies with a view to maturing various prospects that could be drilled during 3Q-4Q 2019.
