ABERDEEN, UK– Fugro expects to mobilize its new multi-purpose ROV support vessel, Edda Sun, for the first time in March, for an inspection, repair and maintenance contract.

The company recently took the vessel on a two-year charter.

The vessel, built in 2009, accommodates up to 72 personnel and is equipped with a Sikorsky S‑92‑compatible helideck and a 70t/11-m (36-ft) heave-compensated knuckle boom deck crane, with 625 sq m (6,727 sq ft) of free deck space.

It also has two crane-deployed inspection class ROV systems and one hangar-deployed FCV 3000 work class ROV system, with integrated ROV control, online inspection, survey and offline processing/review offices.
