The Nord Stream consortium has issued a progress report on offshore construction for the Nord Stream 2 project in the Baltic Sea.

ZUG, Switzerland – The Nord Stream consortium has issued a progress report on offshore construction for the Nord Stream 2 project in the Baltic Sea.

So far more than 200 km (124 mi) of pipeline have been laid with around 20 vessels operating simultaneously to ensure timely completion of the line.

Saipem’s pipelay bargeCastoro Dieci has completed its program in the Bay of Greifswald off northern Germany.

Allseas’Audaciacontinues pipelay in German territorial waters, while the Solitaire is laying pipe in the Finnish Exclusive Economic Zone.

All 200,000 steel pipes required for the pipeline have been delivered from the pipe mills to the two coating plants. More than 72% of these have been concrete weight coated and are being delivered to pipelay vessels from the logistics hubs round the clock.
