OSLO, NorwayPanoro Energy has issued an update on its E&P programs offshore West Africa.

Phase 1 development activities have been completed at theTortue oil field in the Dussafu PSC offshore Gabon, which came onstream in September.

The two initial horizontal development wells, DTM-2H and DTM-3H, are producing oil from the Dentale and Gamba reservoirs into the FPSOBW Adolo via subsea systems.

Both the wells and the FPSO process plant are still being optimized for the Phase 1 production, with initial production rates presently in the middle of the anticipated 10,000-15,000 b/d.

A first lifting of crude oil from the FPSO should get under way later this month.

Following the successful appraisal of the western flank of the Tortue field, Phase 2 development plans are in the final stages. This will likely involve drilling up to four further subsea wells tied back to the FPSO, with start-up scheduled for 2020.

Operator BW Energy estimates 2P reserves for Tortue phases 1 and 2 in the range of 30-40 MMbbl recoverable.

At the OML 113Aje field offshore Nigeria, operated by YFP, production continues from the two wells, with Aje-4 well producing from the Cenomanian oil reservoir and Aje-5 from the oil rim of the Turonian reservoir.

A crude lifting was completed in August with the next lifting slated for the current month. The partners are working on plans for the next phase of activity based around the field development plan submitted for the Turonian gas, and possible exploitation of the Turonian oil rim.

YFP has received ministerial consent for renewal of the license for an additional 20 years, subject to the satisfaction of financial conditions and a commitment to exploit the Turonian gas potential.

Off Tunisia, the Hammamet Offshore exploration permit expired in September, and is in the process of being formally relinquished.
