Maersk semisub to drill in the Timor Sea for Eni

Maersk Drilling and Eni JDPA 11-106 B.V. have signed a one-well contract for the semisubmersible Mærsk Deliverer for exploration drilling in the Timor Sea.

LYNGBY, Denmark – Maersk Drilling and Eni JDPA 11-106 B.V. have signed a one-well contract for the semisubmersible Mærsk Deliverer for exploration drilling in the Timor Sea.

The estimated duration of the firm contract is two months, and it is expected to begin in March 2019. The contract contains an option for an additional well with an expected duration of an additional two months.

TheMærsk Deliverer is currently warm-stacked in Labuan, Malaysia, after completing a well program in March 2018. The rig, which was built in 2009, can drill at water depths of up to 3,000 m (9,842 ft). It is expected to mobilize into the Timor Sea in early 2019.
