Global outlines Njord re-installation program for 2019-20

Equinor has contracted Global Maritime to provide marine operations to assist programs offshore Norway until 2020, under a NOK60-80 million ($7-9.5 million) contract.

STAVANGER, NorwayEquinor has contracted Global Maritime to provide marine operations to assist programs offshore Norway until 2020, under a NOK60-80 million ($7-9.5 million) contract.

The contractor will be responsible for project management, engineering, equipment procurement and offshore management, all managed from its offices in Stavanger and Oslo.

This summer the company towed the Njord Bravo FSO from Kristiansund to Haugesund and its campaign for Equinor next year will include: pre-installation of 15 mooring lines for the Njord A and B platforms in the Norwegian Sea, including 10 suction anchors; re-connection of the Njord B submerged turret loading (STL) buoy and mooring; lift and support of seven flowlines at Njord A; and recovery of one mooring line at Njord, A including the suction anchor.

Equinor has chartered the new deepwater installation vesselIsland Victory, which Global Maritime will use to perform these various jobs. In 2020 it will manage towing and re-connection of Njord A and Njord B.

The company previously worked for Equinor and the Njord Future Marine project from 2015 to 2017, disconnecting and towing of Njord B andNjord A, recovering the Njord B submerged turret loading system, the power cable between Njord A and Njord B, and performing lift and support of seven risers at Njord A.
