Jumbo to deliver Sergipe FSRU mooring spread

Sapura has contracted Jumbo’s offshore division to transport and install an FSRU mooring system, including riser and umbilical, off the coast of Aracaju, Sergipe in Brazil.

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands – Sapura has contracted Jumbo’s offshore division to transport and install an FSRU mooring system, including riser and umbilical, off the coast of Aracaju, Sergipe in Brazil.

The scope includes provision of project management and engineering services.

The mooring system comprises an anchor base and a rotating yoke arm filled with water and barite ballast. All the structures will be loaded in Batam, Indonesia, then transported and installed at the offshore site by either theFairplayer or Jumbo Javelin.

Work should be completed by the end of this year.

Last year the contractor undertook similar assignments for the vessel supplier Golar offshore Cameroon and Bangladesh.

Sapura Energy Do Brasil has the EPCC contract for the pipeline for UTE Porto de Sergipe 1 combined cycle power plant; and delivery and hookup of the FSRU mooring system.

ThePort of Sergipe project comprises an LNG terminal with a 170,000-cu m (6MM-cu ft) FSRU, a 6.5-km (4-mi) natural gas pipeline, a 1,516-MW megawatt combined-cycle gas turbine power plant, and a 33-km (21-mi) electricity transmission line.

Sponsors of the project are Golar Power and Ebrasil, a regional thermal plant operator.
