Lancaster moorings in place west of Shetland

The turret mooring system for the FPSO Aoka Mizu, including a buoy newly constructed by Drydocks World, is now in place at the Lancaster field west of Shetland.

GODALMING, UK – The turret mooring system for the FPSO Aoka Mizu, including a buoy newly constructed by Drydocks World, is now in place at the Lancaster field west of Shetland.

The offshore construction vesselNormand Installer and associated support vessels managed the installation.

According to Lancaster operator Hurricane Energy, installation of the subsea umbilical, risers, and flowlines for the early production system will begin soon.

The buoy will remain submerged below the surface, secured by 12 mooring lines connected to piles, until the FPSO’s arrival.

Lancaster is due to produce first oil during 1H 2019.
