CONSTANTA, Romania – GSP Offshore’s jackup GSP Jupiter has started a work program for Energean’s Epsilon field development in the Prinos area offshore western Greece.

In mid-July the rig was on location and moved into its drilling position using the anchor handler tug supply vesselGSP Queen.

It was jacked-up to the drilling level with the cantilever skidded out, and the survey and diving equipment prepared for installation of the permanent drilling template.

On July 24, the template was engaged with the running tool and drillstring HW retrieved from theGSP Queen and launched into the sea.

The Epsilon development is designed to increase production from the Prinos area. Facilities comprise an unmanned wellhead platform and three inter-connecting pipelines to the existing Prinos Delta platform.

GSP’s work scope includes drilling of three wells at the location of the new Lamda platform, 4 km (2.5 mi) west of the Prinos Delta complex in the Aegean Sea, from theGSP Jupiter; and project management, construction, transportation and installation engineering, and assistance with start-up of the new facilities.

The Lamda platform will be equipped with the minimal facilities required to safely control production and to enable drilling and well interventions.
