TechnipFMC to upgrade Pluto platform for water handling

Woodside Energy has commissioned TechnipFMC to upgrade the Pluto production facilities offshore northwest Australia for water treatment.

LONDON/PARIS/HOUSTONWoodside Energy has commissioned TechnipFMC to upgrade the Pluto production facilities offshore northwest Australia for water treatment.

The contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) of the water handling module on the Pluto Alpha gas production platform, comprising facilities for water separation and treatment, and upgraded power generation units.

The Pluto complex is 190 km (118 mi) offshore Karratha. Produced gas heads through a subsea pipeline toWoodside’s Pluto LNG onshore plant: other partners are Kansai Electric and Tokyo Gas.

Nello Uccelletti, president of TechnipFMC’s Onshore/Offshore business, said: “This award is one of our strategic ‘early engagement’ achievements, based on the optimized design developed by TechnipFMC during the tendering phase.”
