MELBOURNE, Australia – The partners in the deepwater SNE oil field offshore Senegal are progressing preparations for the first-phase development, according to FAR.

Tenders have gone out for the FPSO, subsea equipment and drilling rigs. Bids should come through by the end of May.

FAR assesses SNE’s resources at 640 MMbbl.

The partners will look to submit their field evaluation report to Senegal’s government by the end of June and the exploitation plan for the development in September, with a view to gaining approval by the end of the year.

They will then target a final investment decision in mid-2019 followed by first oil between 2021 and 2023. The project will be designed to allow flexibility for subsequent development phases with subsea tiebacks from other reservoir intervals and fields.
