EAST KILBRIDE, UK – Flow measurement R&D specialist TUV SUD NEL has completed the base building that will house its new £16-million ($21.5-million) advanced multiphase facility.

On completion, this will offer testing of operating pressures, temperatures, flow rates and metrology said to exceed all other facilities worldwide.

The capability to operate at pressures up to 150 bar (2,176 psi) will double current capabilities to replicate extreme production conditions, TUV SUD NEL added.

The new 1,600-sq m (17,222-sq ft) facility will house a full production-scale separator with an operating weight of 270 metric tons (297 tons) and an integrated subsea choke, as well providing testing for a range of flow meters, from 2 to 12 in.

It will also support academic research.
