LONDONEnQuest expects to drill three wells at the Magnus field east of the Shetlands, having assumed operatorship from BP.

Following an upgrade of the Magnus platform drilling rig, the company plans well interventions (logging and potentially also perforations) with two production wells and one injector well set to come onstream later this year.

During 1Q, the company completed its first wireline intervention prior to the spudding of the first new side track well, and it is also assessing various production efficiency enhancement measures.

Late last year EnQuest reinstated water injection at the Dons area in the UK northern North Sea following the replacement of the water injection pipelines.

OnThistle in the same region, it implemented a program to improve the reliability of water injection and shut off areas of the reservoir in which high volumes of water were being produced.

As a result, reservoir pressure has risen substantially, while shutting off some water production from four wells that were producing high levels of water has increased oil production by around 1,000 b/d.

In addition, the company completed various idle well abandonments at Thistle and the Heather fields, reducing integrity risks and providing opportunities for future infill wells.

Further drilling is in progress on Heather. The H-67 side track was completed this month, while further well abandonments will follow later in the year.
