HONG KONG – CNOOC has started production ahead of schedule from its Weizhou 6-13 oil field project in the Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea.
Average water depth is around 35 m (115 ft).
The program, which makes use of existing facilities on theWeizhou 12-1 oil field, involved installation of a wellhead platform.
Currently seven wells are in production and output should reach a peak of roughly 9,400 b/d next year.
