    Samsung delivers topsides for Sverdrup riser platform

    GEOJE, South Korea– The topsides of the Johan Sverdrup riser platform has departed the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.

    Loaded onboard aDockwise type I heavy transport vessel, the voyage to Norway is expected to take six weeks.

    Samsung is also building the topsides for the process platform, which is expected to leave the shipyard in December.

    Earlier this month, operator Statoil said theJohan Sverdrup Phase 1 development in the Norwegian North Sea is nearly 70% complete.
