Fenja subsea tieback to feature record length trace heated pipeline

VNG Norge has awarded TechnipFMC an EPCI contract for the Fenja field subsea tieback in the Norwegian Sea.

PARIS – VNG Norge has awarded TechnipFMC an EPCI contract for the Fenja field subsea tieback in the Norwegian Sea.

The scope comprises provision of equipment including umbilicals, risers, flowlines and the subsea production system for Fenja (ex-Pil and Bue), which will be connected to Statoil’s redeveloped Njord platform.

Hallvard Hasselknippe, president of TechnipFMC’s Subsea Projects, said: “This is TechnipFMC’s sixth integrated iEPCI award and the largest one to date… We are grateful to VNG for being an early mover in embracing theiEPCI execution model and very happy to support their first E&P development as operator.

“The Fenja project will have the longest electrically trace heated pipeline in the world at 37 km [23 mi], and will benefit from multiple TechnipFMC product groups and engineering locations.”
