LONDON – Tower Resources has contracted DMT Petrologic to reprocess 3D seismic data over and around the Thali license offshore Cameroon.

The scope covers merging and reprocessing data from five existing surveys over a total area of around 500 sq km (193 sq mi), taking in the three discovery wells on the Thali block and additional key wells that will provide further data control.

Reprocessing work should lead to higher resolution imaging, helping Tower to upgrade the existing prospect inventory on the Thali block.

DMT Petrologic is experienced in reprocessing of legacy3D seismic off West Africa, including in Cameroon. The company expects to complete this work during 1Q 2018.

Jeremy Asher, Tower’s chairman and CEO, said: “This work will allow us to make a more detailed evaluation of the many prospects on the Thali block, including the existing discoveries at Njonji and Rumpi.

“We expect to crystallize greater confidence in the volumetric estimates of existing leads and prospects as well as identifying new ones. This will form the basis for our drilling plans, to be confirmed via a competent person’s report next year.”
