LONDONKBR has subcontracted CH2M to provide marine/civil engineering support for the BP/Kosmos EnergyTortue development offshore Mauritania and Senegal.

This involves subsea gas production, a floating gas treatment facility, a pipeline with domestic gas connection points and a near-shore hub facility where the gas will be converted into LNG.

The hub facility will provide breakwater-protected berths for a floating LNG production unit and for export of LNG by ship.

CH2M’s preliminary front-end engineering and design (pre-FEED) will support the final decisions on the hub location, layout, the method of constructing the inshore hub, and marine operations and project execution planning.

BP earlier designated named KBR as engineering services contractor for the Tortue development.

CH2M’s team for this project is based in the UK.
