TOKYO – Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP).

The two companies plan to jointly develop new technologies to enhance oil/gas development and production efficiency.

Over the past few years JOGMEC has worked on new technologies and proposed solutions to address technical challenges faced by various NOCs and IOCs, some via collaborations with other Japanese companies.

PTTEP is said to be looking to improve efficiency of its operated fields in theAsia/Pacific region and has agreed to work with JOGMEC to apply advanced Japanese technologies, particularly in reservoir monitoring, to accelerate development and enhance field production.

JOGMEC will perform field test of these technologies on PTTEP-operated fields, and eventually aims to extend application to other oil-producing regions.
