PASIR GUDANG, Malaysia – MISC Berhad (MISC)’s marginal marine production unit (MaMPU 1) has undergone a sail-away ceremony at the company’s MMHE East Yard.

This is a fit-for-purposeFPSO for the development of marginal fields. Its first deployment will be at the Anjung Kecil oil field offshore Sarawak, operated by Vestigo Petroleum on behalf of Petronas.

TheMaMPU 1, converted from an oil tanker, has a storage capacity of 318,000 bbl. It can produce 15,000 b/d of oil with a 25-MMcf/d gas handling capacity.

Features of the topsides include an adaptation of Sep-iSYS, a compact low pressure system that stabilizes the crude received from the reservoir for safe storage and subsequent export.

Through its condensate recovery system (CRS), theMaMPU 1 can provide increased oil production via recovery from unwanted flaring gas.

CRS, combined with Sep-iSYS, are said to enable production of an additional 50 bbl of oil per 1 MM sq ft of flared gas.

MISC also expects the CRS to cut lower carbon-dioxide emissions by 25-30% on daily flaring rates.
