PARISOneSubsea has contracted Nexans to supply the umbilical and accessories for the Greater Enfield development offshore Exmouth, Western Australia.

The €20-million ($24-million) package will be Nexans’ first delivery to a projectoffshore Australia.

The company will manufacture the umbilical at its plants in Halden and Rognan for delivery in January 2018. It will be installed in water depths of up to 915 m (3,002 ft), and will comprise both dynamic and static sections.

Greater Enfield Project is a joint venture between Woodside Energy and Mitsui E&P Australia. The oil field, 60 km (37 mi) from Exmouth, will be developed via a 31-km (19-mi) subsea tieback to the existing FPSO.

Six subsea production wells and six water injection wells will produce around 69 MMboe.

OneSubsea, which will supply the subsea pumps, previously worked with Nexans on theJulia oil field project in the Gulf of Mexico, which started production earlier this year.

Nexans designed, manufactured, and supplied an integrated power umbilical solution and termination hardware.
