HORTEN, Norway – Vissim has completed a program of remote surveillance integration on the jackup Maersk Giant, via its partner Royal Dirkzwager’s marine control room in the Netherlands.
The initial project, operated by Det norske oljeselskap offshoreNorway, was the first to provide round-the-clock remote offshore asset monitoring of drilling on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) from the Dirkzwager facility.
The marine control room, supported by Det norske and Premier Oil, initially involved vessel traffic management services for Det norske’s drilling at Heimdalshø and Premier Oil’s operation at Myrhauk, for two locations in the southern NCS not covered by previously established monitoring services.
It came about as a result of the recent frame agreement between Vissim and Ross Offshore Well Management Services, which allows operators to plug into the Dirkzwager control room for both short- and long-term projects.
