    Shell reports deepwater gas discovery offshore Malaysia

    Shell has reported an exploration discovery offshore Malaysia. The Rosmari-1 well is located 135 km (443 mi) offshore Malaysia in block SK318, and was drilled to TD of 2,123 m (6,965 ft).

    HOUSTON – Shell has reported an exploration discovery offshore Malaysia. The Rosmari-1 well is located 135 km (443 mi) offshore Malaysia in block SK318, and was drilled to TD of 2,123 m (6,965 ft).

    The well encountered more than 450 m (1,476 ft) of gas column. With further exploration planned, the finding is a positive indicator of the gas potential in an area of strategic interest for Shell.

    Block SK318 is Shell operated with an 85% interest, with the remaining 15% held byPETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd.
