Abbot Group Plc subsidiary KCA Deutag has landed a series of contract wins and extensions worth over $100 million over the next three years.

As a result of a competitive tender for CNR International (UK) Ltd., KCA received a letter of intent confirming award of a contract to perform CNR's platform drilling and maintenance services in the North Sea. The contract will run for three years with two, one-year options.

Canada's Nexen, meanwhile, is extending KCA's existing operations and maintenance contract on the Scott platform for a further three years, with options to extend the contract at the end of the contract period. And Total has extended the current KCA operations and maintenance contract for North Alwyn and Dunbar for a further three years.

Brian Taylor, KCA's business unit director for UK, Norway, Caspian, and Sakhalin, says, "These contract wins and renewals are very encouraging. Despite the significant downturn in activity in 2004, the North Sea is still an important market for KCA Deutag, and I am delighted that our continuing commitment and experience in providing safe and efficient platform drilling operations in this challenging environment has been recognized by our customers."
