KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Yinson Production and AVEVA have entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop new FPSO solutions.
This involves applying AVEVA’s software to allow Yinson to initially operate an FPSO with minimal human involvement, later becoming fully autonomous.
Yinson will implement a digital twin virtual model of the floating structure and deploy analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence to sustain the digital twin throughout the asset’s life cycle.
Autonomous technologies, the company said, can enhance the energy and resource efficiency of assets, help to lower emissions, and reduce human error and manual intervention.
The MoU builds on Yinson’s existing partnership with AVEVA, under which the latter’s engineering tools support its design and construction process.
