BERGEN, Norway — Odfjell Drilling and Aker BP have agreed to extend the firm contract for the semisubmersible Deepsea Nordkapp offshore Norway. The rig has been working for Aker BP since 2019.
The extended term will start on Jan. 1, 2025, in direct continuation of the current firm contract period and run for two further years, compensated on a market-based rate mechanism, subject to approval from the license partners.
In addition to the market-based day rates, Aker BP will pay performance and fuel savings incentive bonuses. Also, the contract now includes rolling one-year un-priced optional periods.
