Offshore staff
BREMEN, Germany — Siemens Gamesa and wpd have signed a master supply agreement for the 927-MW Gennaker offshore wind power plant, 15 km from the German Baltic Sea coast.
The project will feature 103 Siemens Gamesa Direct Drive offshore wind turbines, each with a 167-m diameter rotor. With the PowerBoost option engaged, capacity can reach up to 9 MW.
Terms include a 20-year service agreement. All the turbines should be installed by 2026.
The rotors employ Siemens Gamesa B81 IntegralBlades, providing a swept area of 21,900 sq m.
Tendering continues for the other main components and installation vessels.
