STAVANGER, NorwayEquinor has acquired a site at the port of Łeba in Poland.

This will serve as the operations and maintenance (O&M) base for the Polish Baltic Sea offshore wind projects.

Equinor will construct, own, and operate the base to support the Bałtyk offshore wind projects it plans to develop, in a joint venture with Polenergia.

The two companies are currently working on the Bałtyk III, Bałtyk II, and Bałtyk I offshore wind projects.

Earlier this month Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office awarded ‘contracts of difference’ for Bałtyk III and Bałtyk II, with a combined planned capacity of up to 1,440 MW.

The O&M base would serve as the nearby logistics hub for the Bałtyk projects, with an office, storage, and transportation facilities.

Construction of the wind farm infrastructure could start in 2024.
