PSA responds to injury onboard North Sea Brage platform

The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has opened an investigation into an injury to a technician onboard the Brage platform in the North Sea last week.

OSLO, Norway — The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has opened an investigation into an injury to a technician onboard the Brage platform in the North Sea last week.

OKEA operates the facility, which is 125 km west of Bergen.

During depressurization for maintenance on a well that was shut down, the valve block came loose and struck a person in the face, causing injuries. The person had to be transported to Haukeland Hospital for further treatment.

A PSA team is examining the causes of the incident.
