Petrobras reports that its first-quarter lifting costs rose by 7.1% to $6.79/boe.
The increase was due to higher services payments related to asset integrity maintenance. That included well interventions at the offshore Roncador, Barracuda, and Marlim fields, and inspections and subsea maintenance at the Búzios, Itapu, and Marlim Leste fields.
In addition, expenditure at Búzios was higher due to a new seabed monitoring program.
However, the increases were partly offset by lower production losses arising from maintenance shutdowns, improved operational efficiency at fields in the Santos basin, ramp-up of production through the FPSO Marechal Duque de Caxias, and start-up of the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré in February.
Postsalt lifting costs were 4.4% higher, offset to an extent by production resuming last December at the Marlim Leste field. Here costs per barrel are lower compared to the company’s other post-salt producing fields.
