Prosafe describes the Safe Notos as a GustoMSC Ocean 500 design semisubmersible accommodation vessel delivered from COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd. in February 2016.
Petrobras has declared Prosafe the winner of a bidding process for a four-year operations support contract offshore Brazil.
Pending confirmation of the contract, Prosafe will provide the Safe Notos semisubmersible rig for safety and maintenance assistance. The award and timing remain subject to a formal process but, if confirmed, would take effect in September 2026 following expiry of the current Safe Notos contract, which started in third-quarter 2022.
Prosafe estimates the total value of the new contract at about $204 million.
The dynamically positioned rig, capable of operations in harsh environments, can accommodate up to 500 people, with a large-capacity crane, open deck area and a telescopic gangway.
