CNOOC has brought onstream the Dongfang 1-1 gas field 13-3 Block development in the Yinggehai Basin in the northwestern part of the South China Sea.

This is the first high-pressure/high-temperature (HP/HT), low-permeability natural gas project offshore China, in Chinese waters, in an average water depth of about 67 m.

CNOOC commissioned a new unmanned wellhead platform, which is connected to existing processing facilities serving the Dongfang 13-2 gas field. It plans to drill six development wells, producing about 35 MMcf/d at peak in 2026.

Production is sent to Guangdong, Hong Kong and Hainan.
