ADES steps in with jackup offer for Tower’s offshore Cameroon well

The timing led to favorable terms compared with other offers submitted by various rig owners to Tower over the past year or so.

Tower Resources Cameroon has issued a Letter of Award to ADES Holding affiliate Advanced Energy Systems (ADES) for a jackup to drill the NJOM-3 well on the offshore Thali license in the fourth quarter.

The proposed rig is Admarine 510, a GustoMSC CJ-46-X100-D triangular design, three-legged jackup built in 2019, for operations in water depths of up to 375 ft. It is currently completing a five-yearly recertification project in Bahrain.

Addax Petroleum has also contracted the rig for operations in Cameroon, starting in late 2025. But the goal is to drill the NJOM-3 well for Tower before this program gets underway.

The timing led to favorable terms compared with other offers submitted by various rig owners to Tower over the past year or so.

The Letter of Award remains subject to the receipt of government approvals in Cameroon and the completion of Tower’s farm-out of a percentage of the Thali license to Prime Global Energies, which it first announced in January.
