BERGEN, Norway – Shearwater GeoServices Holding is offloading four seismic acquisition vessels for recycling as part of its fleet renewal strategy.

The first two vessels, Polar Marquis and Ocean Challenger, have already been delivered in Turkey for recycling in accordance with EU regulations and the 2009 Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships.

The SW Emerald and SW Eagle, which are not in active service offshore, will be delivered for recycling later this year. All four ships were built between 1992 and 2000.

Last year, the company announced it would recycle the Western Trident and sell the CGG Alize.
