MOSCOWRosneft and ExxonMobil have initiated a 2D seismic survey over the Anisinsko-Novosibirsky and Ust-Oleneksky license blocks in the Laptev Sea off northern Russia.

They plan to acquire up to 6,000 linear km (3,728 mi), with the program set to continue until the end of October.

Additionally, Dalmorneftegeophysica will perform a license-wide bathymetric survey of the seabed surface with a multi-beam echosounder to define depth and study seabed topography, using the research vesselAcademik Fersman.

The resultant data will assist exploration of oil and gas resources over the 205,000-sq km (79,151-sq mi) concession, which Rosneft was awarded in 2013.
