Weatherford donates RipTide to Bush Library ‘Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery’ exhibit

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate the grand opening of its newest exhibit, “Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery” with a RipTide RFID donated by Weatherford International.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate the grand opening of its newest exhibit, “Offshore Drilling: The Promise of Discovery” with a RipTide RFID donated by Weatherford International.

RipTide RFID (radio frequency identification) is the drilling industry’s most advanced concentric underreamer and is used to enlarge the wellbore diameter during drilling.

The exhibit tells the story behind offshore drilling, including the search for oil offshore, exploration of the Gulf of Mexico, and the past, present and future of offshore drilling. Additional features on display include a video wall that highlights life on a rig, platforms, and model parts of various technologies used in the field.

The exhibit will be on display through Feb. 1, 2015, at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at Texas A&M University.
