This update provides the latest in senior appointments, promotions, retirements, company news and more across the offshore energy industry.

HOUSTON Charles Njuguna, president, CEO and CFO of Koil Energy Solutions has resigned due to a family health matter. In connection with Njuguna’s CEO and board of directors resignation, Erik Wiik has been appointed a member of the company’s board, effective March 8, and to serve as its next CEO, effective April 1. Cellula Robotics, developer of fuel cell powered AUV systems, has promoted Neil Manning from corporate development officer to CEO.

Trillion Energy International Inc. has appointed David Thompson interim CFO and continues its search for a permanent CFO. Ozge Karalli will no longer be able to fulfill the duties of the CFO as a result of her termination with Park Place Energy, Trillion’s operating subsidiary in Turkey. Read more. 

Søren Skou, the former CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk, has joined Skyborn Renewables as chair of the advisory board.

Maciej Jozwiak has joined GLO Marine's team as the new technical and green transition manager. Jozwiak brings more than six years of engineering project management at DAMEN and more than nine years as senior approval engineer at DNV’s Oslo Headquarters. 

Raphael Park will transition from his role as managing director of Zodiac Solutions to general manager of Blue Water South Korea. 

Westwood Global Energy Group, an energy market research and consultancy firm, has appointed Cinnamon Edralin to its RigLogix team as Americas research director.

McDermott has named Linda Borne senior vice president and chief human resources (HR) officer. Borne previously served as vice president of HR and a member of the company's executive committee since 2023.

OEG Energy Group Ltd., an offshore solutions business, has appointed Caroline Merson its new chief marketing and communications officer.

Kirk Lovegrove & Co. Ltd., an independent energy advisory firm, has announced that Martin Lovegrove has decided to step down from being chairman but will remain on the board as a non-executive director. In addition, Niels Kirk, who co-founded the firm in 2018 together with Lovegrove, has been appointed executive chairman, and James Peterkin is stepping up to be chief executive.

Talos Energy has completed its acquisition of QuarterNorth Energy, an E&P independent focused on the US Gulf of Mexico. Read more. 

SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have signed a memorandum of understanding for the creation of a floating offshore wind joint venture named EkWiL. Read more. 

Teledyne Marine has agreed to acquire Valeport, a provider of design and manufacture of underwater sensors and profilers.

Archer Ltd. has acquired 65% of Vertikal Services AS.

Massterly, an autonomous vessel operations specialist, has opened its Remote Operation Center in Horten. Read more. 

DUG Technology has upgraded its Houston geoscience data center to increase the company’s high-performance computing capabilities. Read more.

Mermaid Maritime has formed a 50:50 joint venture company in Vietnam with Tan Cang Offshore Services. Read more. 

Advanced Ocean Systems (AOS), a US-based business offering autonomous and remote systems development capabilities to the ocean industry, has acquired Ocean Specialists Inc. (OSI). OSI joins SeaRobotics and Okeanus Science & Technology under the AOS umbrella.

Blue Water, a provider of logistics services in modern supply chain management, has signed an agreement to acquire the operations of Zodiac Solutions, a South Korean logistics company.

PALFINGER, a producer and provider of crane and lifting equipment, has opened a new site in Perth, Western Australia. 

Pecan Energies, the operator of the deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points Block offshore Ghana, says it has  successfully completed its rebranding journey, with a new name, logo and a revitalized brand identity. Pecan Energies, previously known as Aker Energy, was originally founded in June 2018, and Africa Finance Corp. acquired Pecan Energies in April 2023.

South Sudan’s national oil company Nilepet has opened its new headquarters in Juba. Nilepet is a major employer and incubator of talent in the petroleum industry of South Sudan. 

Capes Shipping Agencies, a Virginia-based ship agency subsidiary of CV International Inc. has opened its newest office in New Orleans, La. 

Aberdeen-based engineering and manufacturing company Wellvene has formed a new partnership with one of Norway’s integrated completions providers, Marwell AS. Wellvene expects this partnership to generate an additional £1.5 million in revenue over the next 12 months.
